Not many people in Australia have heard of the Levellers. That’s a shame, because their music is superb. They can’t really be pigeonholed into a genre – if you like music you should enjoy listening to them.

Some facts about the Levellers:

• They had more platinum, gold and silver albums in the 90’s than any other act in the UK.
• They’ve headlined Glastonbury festival twice and in 2005 more than 25,000 people came to see them on the JazzWorld stage at Glastonbury – the largest crowd that stage has ever seen.
• The Levellers have their own weekend music festival, Beautiful Days. 15th – 17th August 2008 will be the sixth Beautiful Days Festival. They are the first band since Fairport Convention began Cropredy in the 70s to do this.
• May 2005 saw the release of the bands 8th studio album “Truth And Lies ”. The first single from the album “Make U Happy” released in April shot into the top 40.
